Distinguished scholar and speaker, Mekro Permana Pinem, Ph.D, shared his expertise and invaluable insights on the opportunities and challenges of studying abroad. With a wealth of experience in international education, he explained a valuable guidance to attendees that eager to embark on their own educational journeys beyond borders.

Serang,(September 23, 2023), a virtual event one of the Diaspora Weeks Series titled “Studying Abroad: A Transformative and Enriching Experience for Many Individuals” took place on Zoom, drawing hundreds of enthusiastic participants from around Banten. This event is one of the series of the 42th Dies Natalis Untirta. The event featured distinguished speakers, Huria Marnis, Ph.D, from Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional, and Dr. Dodi Hermawan, S.Pi., M.Si., from PUI-PT Inovasi Pangan Lokal di Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. The discussion was expertly moderated by Ikomatussuniah, M.H., Ph.D., from the International Office of Untirta.

International Student Exchange Opportunity

On Saturday, 23 September 2023, The International Office of UNTIRTA collaborated with Sobat Pelita to hold a webinar with the theme “International Student Exchange Opportunity” via Zoom Meeting. This webinar was held to commemorate Untirta’s 42nd anniversary. The speaker in the webinar, Tsabat Muhammad Abdillah, is an UNTIRTA student who has experience in Internasional student exchange. He is one of the IISMA 2021 Awardee. In this webinar he shares about his experience, preparation, and strategies to get the international student exchange program. There were dozens of participants who attended this webinar. The participants were very enthusiastic and curious throughout the event.

Strengthening Research Ecosystem In Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa

Sindang Sari, September 18, 2023 – Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (Untirta) and International Office of Untirta took an important step towards enhancing its research ecosystem during an attractive event held at the Multimedia Convention Hall, Rectorate Building 1st Floor, Untirta Sindang Sari. The opening remarks given by Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Fatah Sulaiman, S.T., M.T., the honoured Rector of Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, highlighted the institution’s remarkable progress towards becoming a Health, Integrated, Technology, and Smart Campus.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Fatah Sulaiman, S.T., M.T., expressed his enthusiasm for Untirta’s transformative journey. He emphasized that the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation, technology integration, and comprehensive health initiatives within its academic community.

The event featured an educative keynote address by Prof. Dodi Nandika, M.Sc., a distinguished speaker. DARMASISWA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2023

Darmasiswa students, Saidmuhammad Asoev (Tajikistan) and Randriamiarinisa Maminirina Meva Fandresena (Madagascar).

Darmasiswa is a scholarship program offered by UNTIRTA to countries that establish diplomatic relations to study Indonesian and also cultural arts, for 10 months.

The purpose and hope of the government to the scholarship recipients this time is to become a bridge between the Indonesian government and the country of origin of the scholarship recipients, and introduce Indonesia at the global level. The government and UNTIRTA will also introduce learning orientation outside the classroom and introduce Banten Culture starting from the Indonesian of Foreign Speakers (BIPA), Literacy, Nusantara Dance, Batik Making, Creative Dance, Traditional Music and many others.

Indonesia-Korea Youth Exchange Program 2023 (IKYEP 2023) Ignites Cultural and Entrepreneurial Exchange

Sindangsari, 30 August 2023 – The vibrant synergy between two nations came alive on August 30th, 2023, as the Indonesia-Korea Youth Exchange Program 2023 (IKYEP 2023) took place. With a participation of hundreds of students from esteemed and well known universities in South Korea and Indonesia, the event marked a significant milestone in fostering cross-cultural understanding and nurturing the digital entrepreneurship.

Hosted at Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, the IKYEP 2023 event served as a platform for students to dive into the world of digital entrepreneurship, led by the renowned speaker Dr. Eng. Agung Sudrajat. With a wealth of experience and knowledge, Dr. Sudrajat guided the participants through the intricate landscape of digital innovation and entrepreneurship, sharing insights that are invaluable for aspiring business leaders of tomorrow.

The event also featured Udi Samanhudi, Ph.D, who played a crucial role as the facilitator, ensuring that the exchange of ideas and experiences flowed seamlessly. The Realization of Three Parties Partnership, Academics from Seattle Pacific University and Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana in International Guest Lecture at Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa.

Serang, (15-08-2023) – International Office of Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa held The International Guest Lecture presenting distinguished educators and lecturers, Dr. David Wicks, Associate Professor of Curriculum & Instruction at Seattle Pacific University, and Dr. Ira Rasikawati, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences and Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana (UKRIDA), Jakarta. Dr. Udi Samanhudi, as the Head of International Office of Untirta gave opening remarks and delivered the purposes of Internationalization in Higher Education especially in Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. He stated about this event could be increase of the research and academics.

Dr. David Wicks and Dr. Ira Rasikawati were delivered in a groundbreaking international guest lecture on “Digital Education Leadership.” This lecture aims to shed light on innovative approaches to teaching and learning in the digital age.The event explored pivotal topics such as enhancing teaching presence using generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a Teaching Assistant, and online learning best practices grounded in the COI (Community Of Inquiry) framework. Dr. Wicks and Dr. Rasikawati explained into the challenges and opportunities of incorporating AI-driven solutions into education and discuss strategies for fostering effective online learning experiences.

Enhancing Teaching Presence Using AI: Dr. David Wicks discussed the role of generative AI as a Teaching Assistant in modern education. He explained how AI can assist teachers in tasks such as organizing assignments, providing instant answers, offering personalized feedback, and facilitating dynamic interactions. The lecture addressed both the potential benefits and limitations of AI technology, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a balanced approach.

Online Learning Best Practices: Dr. Ira Rasikawati elaborated on the Community Of Inquiry (COI) framework and its application in online learning environments. She highlighted the significance of social presence, teaching presence, and cognitive presence in fostering engaging and effective online learning experiences. The lecture drew insights from student perspectives, emphasizing flexibility, interaction, diverse learning aids, clear feedback, and the vital role of educators in student success.

Both scholars examined the implications of their findings for teaching and research, emphasizing practical application, reflective practice, authentic assessments, and collaboration facilitation. They addressed the positive impact of such educational strategies on student perceptions, real-life application of knowledge, and the challenges educators might face. The hundreds of participants were from students and lecturers of Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa and their enthusiasm to participate from beginning until the end of international guest lecture.

Lokakarya Penjurubahasaan sebagai media diplomasi bahasa dan budaya

(18/07/2023) Pusat Layanan Internasional Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa kerjasama dengan Kantor Bahasa Banten mengadakan kegiatan luring “Lokakarya Penjurubahasaan Sebagai Media Diplomasi Bahasa dan Budaya.” Pada acara ini Inanti P.Diran, S.Pd., Edm adalah pembicara utama pada kegiatan ini. Kepala Kantor Bahasa Banten,  Asep Juanda, S.Ag., M.Hum. memberikan sambutan pada kegiatan lokakarya ini. Pada sambutannya, Asep Juanda, S.Ag., M.Hum. memberikan informasi tujuan utama Kantor Bahasa Banten dalam bidang kebahasaan dan sastra. Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Fatah Sulaiman, S.T., M.T., Rektor Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa memberikan sambutan sekaligus membuka acara“Lokakarya Penjurubahasaan Sebagai Media Diplomasi Bahasa dan Budaya.”. Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Fatah Sulaiman, S.T., M.T., menyampaikan apresiasi besar kepada Kantor Bahasa Banten dengan melalui kegiatan Lokakarya ini sebagai bentuk peningkatan mutu kualitas kemampuan berbahasa para mahasiswa-mahasiswa se-banten.

Inanti P.Diran, S.Pd., Edm menyampaikan serta menjelaskan secara rinci dan jelas Penjurubahasaan adalah suatu bentuk penerjemahan yang dilakukan secara lisan dengan tujuan mengomunikasikan pesan serta pemikiran sesungguhnya dari pembicara, berikut ritme, intonasi, dan unsur budaya ke dalam bahasa sasaran secara langsung dan dalam waktu nyata (real time) agar dapat dengan mudah dipahami oleh pendengar. Juru bahasa harus bisa mendengar, menganalisa, dan menyampaikan dalam satu kali. Menyampaikan dengan ritme dan intonasi yang sesuai, dengan kata kata yang sesuai.

Menjembatani kepada keduanya, itu adalah tugas juru bahasa. Mengkomunikasikan pesan, memberikan dampak yang sama kepada kedua pihak seperti keadaan emosional untuk pendengar agar makna nya tersampaikan, lalu pendengar tidak menyadari bahwa mereka sedang mendengarkan hasil penjurubahasaan.

Kemahiran harus di miliki oleh juru bahasa seperti, mampu memahami pesan, membaca bahasa tubuh, intonasi, mampu memahami makna yang tersurat/tersirat, paham aspek budaya, menguasai topik, mampu berpikir cepat, menguasai bahasa asal lisan secara aktif ( tata bahasa, ragam bahasa, artikulasi), kemahiran mendengar, menguasai budaya bahasa (ungkapan, gaya bahasa, ada istiadat), prediksi dan antisipasi, meringkas kalimat yang panjang, mengatur volume dan tempo

Lokakarya ini dilaksanakan di Gedung Kelas Terpadu, Ruang Multimedia, Kampus Untirta Sindang Sari. Kegiatan ini di hadiri oleh mahasiswa-mahasiswa dari universitas-universitas yang ada di Banten. Acara ini diharapkan mampu mengasah kemampuan penjurubahasaan pada masing-masing individu.
