Dr. Nani Maryani, M.Sc
Biology Education/ Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FKIP)
My research of interest is mycology (taxonomy), microbiology, plant pathology and molecular biology and its related area. My research focuses on the diversity of Fusarium spp.. The fungus causes wilt diseases in many plant species that are very important for agriculture. My research includes the identification of new species and their interaction with plants, in particular in banana. I currently study endophytic Fusarium spp. from wild and cultivated bananas to be used as biocontrol against Fusarium wilt. I used my findings of research in these areas as learning sources for biology education.
In supporting Pusat Unggulan Ketahanan Pangan (PUI-PT Untirta), I am currently working on food fermentation from fruit and agricultural waste in order to find new sources of food.
