Internationalization Of Higher Education

Enlivening the 40th untirta Dies Natalis activity series, Pelita (Untirta International Service Center) held a Webinar themed Internationalization of Higher Education on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 14.00 to 16.00 WIB. Professor Andrew Maintyre, Quinton Temby, M. Risqi UTama Saputra, D. Phil from Monash University; Ahmad Buchori Muslim, Ph.D. Director of the International Affairs Office of the University of Education Indonesia; Udi Samanhudi Head of Untirta Service Center was present as a source explaining the implementation of contextual internationalization policies from their respective institutions.

In the opening speech, the rector of Untirta Prof. Fatah Sulaiman, S.T., M.T briefly explained the policy and vision of Internationalization of Untirta as an Integrated Smart and Green (It’s Green) University that EXCELS, CHARACTER AND COMPETITIVENESS, in the ASEAN Region in 2030. In the plenary session Prof. Andrew and the Monash team outlined the practice of internationalization based on personal experience as part of the academic one of the leading campuses in Australia; Next Ahmad Buchori Muslim, Ph.D. shares information related to internationalization practices and strategies of the Indonesian University of Education; Closed the presentation of the implementation and strategic steps of Untirta in the internationalization of institutions by Udi Samanhudi, Ph.D.

The important points of the presentation of the three sources are that the Internationalization of Higher Education is Translasionalism and collaborative which can be interpreted as a process of the institution to become a global citizen of the world that is ready and able to collaborate cross-country or globally to accelerate progress at the level of Higher Education. In addition, internationalization is also multi-dimensional so that the strategic steps of high education institutions and the personal approach of all community in practice, are needed to succeed their implementation.
