Students of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (UNTIRTA) won a gold medal in the online start-up innovation and research championship held in Turkey on February 27th, 2021. The prestigious international championship was attended by 23 countries and 731 teams. UNTIRTA’s Rector, Prof. Untirta. Dr. H. Fatah Sulaiman, ST., MT. is well pleased with this achievement. “Congratulations to the golden generation of Indonesia in realizing Indonesia will emerge from UNTIRTA’s students who have this kind of innovation and creativity,” he said. Prof. Fatah Sulaiman, ST., MT. added that this achievement is proof that UNTIRTA’s students can compete at the international level and show that they are capable and worthy of competing with countries that are actually more developed than Indonesia.
The Engineering Faculty students who won the gold medal were Rizka, Khoirunnisa, and Berliana. The three of them are part of a team led by Rizka. Rizka had talked about how she started participating in the championship. “Initially we got information about this competition from Instagram, then the three of us discussed our readiness and the possibility of participating in the competition. Finally, we decided to take part in this research and start-up championship” explained Rizka. She said that the scientific work that she and the team sent for the competition was entitled “Pro-Colation” (Propolis Collagen Hand and Body Lotion) INNOVATION OF COLLAGEN BASED LOTION PRODUCTS AS AN EFFORT TO USE HUNDREDS OF WASTE TONS OF BLACK NILE TILAPIA FISH SKIN. This scientific work contains the use of tilapia’s skin waste into collagen to regenerate dead skin cells, soften, moisturize, and anti-aging mixed with hand and body lotion from natural ingredients, especially to rejuvenate the skin of the hands and feet. This scientific work is also a continuation of previous scientific work that he and his team have developed.
Rizkia added, in participating in the 1 Idea 1 World Turkey Competition, there were several stages that must be passed. The first stage was sending the abstract / research summary. Continue to the second stage if you have received the LoA (Letter of Acceptance), you were asked to send 1 poster and 1 ppt (power point presentation). The third stage was to get an invoice for the registration fee to advance to the presentation stage. Finally, the presentation was carried out online by two judges and one moderator. “Alhamdulillah, after the presentation we did not expect to win a gold medal,” he said. He and the team feel grateful to be able to make UNTIRTA and Indonesia proud in the international competition.
