Dr. Udi Samanhudi

I am a doctorate degree holder in the area of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work, Queen’s University of Belfast, UK. In addition to teaching at the department of English education, my current work focuses on managing international partnership programmes between Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University and partner campuses overseas. This would, for example, include research collaboration project, student mobility and international scholarship programmes. My research expertise is in areas such as genre analysis, corpus linguistics (corpus-based genre analysis), English for academic purposes, classroom action research, narrative inquiry, language teacher education and academic literacies. I have supervised more than 60 undergraduate theses to successful completion. I have been involved as a facilitator in series of national training for school teachers and university lecturers in Indonesia focused on, especially, classroom action research and active learning conducted by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. I am also currently involved in a national assessment project for senior school teacher trainers programme run by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. I am a member of board of reviewers for some Indonesian local and national journals in the field of English language teaching (e.g. Bebasan, Indonesian TESOL journal, LLT Journal) and have also published research articles in international journals (i.e. Journal of International Students, Compare: A Journal of Comparative and International Education).
