Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University Being one of outonomus and state university in Banten Indonesia. Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University is, thus, an accredited university with the strength to grant degrees both for Bachelor’s and Master’s level. Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University  has 7 Faculties and 35 majors, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University Attracts More Than 100,000 Applicants Every Year And The Home For 49,118 Students Coming From other province at Indonesia. Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University is playing a crucial role in developing sustainable development solutions for Banten Province Indonesia. Serving the immediate community is an important value  at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University has worked with the provincial and regional administrations, religious leaders, informal chiefs of the traditional villages and other scholars, to correctly promote Banten culturs.  Banten is one of the regions in Indonesia that has many interesting cultural and tourism sites. Tourism sites in Banten province include marine tourism as well as natural attractions of the mountains and forests. Besides, a friendly and warm community is another factor that could make foreigner to feel comfortable in visiting and living in Banten province.

Rampak Bedug Banten

Rampak Beduk is one of the traditional dances from Banten Province. It is played by ten people consisting five men and five women. The name “Rampak Bedug” itself was taken from the word “rampak” means “unison” and “bedug” means ‘drum’. So, Rampak Bedug is the art of combining the dance and the sound of drums in unison to produce the typical attractive rhythm. In the beginning, Rampak Bedug dance was only performed at Takbiran night before Eid day. But now, it has evolved as a professional art to enliven celebrations such as weddings, circumcisions, and national memorial days.

Debus Banten

Debus is a martial art from Banten demonstrating proof of invulnerability (‘kekebalan’). In this context, ‘kekebalan’ means that a person is invulnerable if he suffers no injuries when he stabs himself or is being stabbed by another during the performance. The art of Debus originally developed during the reign of Sultan Ageng Tirtajasa (1651-1682) of Banten for the purpose of boosting the morale of the Banten soldiers fighting against the VOC (Dutch East India Company). However, the practice of Debus is still very much alive among the local population both in some rural areas and in some cities in Banten, such as in the District of Lebak and Pandeglang and also in Cilegon and Serang City.

Angklung Buhun

Angklung Buhun is one of the traditional music instruments from Lebak District, Banten Province. In this context, Buhun means (‘old’ or ‘ancient’). It is said that Angklung buhun has a tight relationship with the presence of Baduy Tribe. Angklung Buhun is the oldest musical instrument that become the heritage of Baduy Tribe. Angklung Buhun is considered to have a supernatural power and is sacred by the community. Moreover, Angklung Buhun has become the cultural identity of Baduy Tribe and has a significant role to promote and maintain not only the value of Baduy tradition but also the existance of Baduy Tribe itself.
